The Art of Eating Moves Forward
Digital at Last

By Kimberly Behr

What began as a humble food letter (the first two issues were written by Ed on a typewriter!), with 32 subscribers two months after the mailing of the first issue, grew to a full-fledged magazine with subscribers in over 65 countries. As we head toward our 30th anniversary, we continue to grow and evolve. We’re excited to announce that The Art of Eating is going digital! Everything you know and love about the magazine will remain the same: we’ll continue to take the long view with in-depth articles — offer wine, restaurant, and book reviews — tell you the very best places to go with Six Addresses — keep art alive with intriguing illustrations and photographs.

The big difference is that we will no longer offer a print edition. We’ll have the digital magazine in a responsive form for multiple types of devices, so you can take it with you wherever you go.

In keeping with the history of The Art of Eating, the digital magazine will have no advertising. Access to the magazine will be behind a paywall. Our website will continue to offer certain articles for free. And we will continue to build a strong body of top-quality information as we add definitive articles from the past and a projected encyclopedia of essential cheeses and one of breads. ●
